Chairman Message

Dear Exporters,

A challenging new target has been set by the government in cooperation with the Industrial Modernization Center (IMC) for the Industrial Sector which is to reach 200 Billion EGP by year 2013. Since the Engineering Sector has shown great success and a boost in their exports; our sector therefore, will contribute a lot to this target in order to achieve the future goals driven for the industrial sector.

The Engineering Exports should contribute to this new strategy by 37.6 Billion EGP which represents 20%. The IMC is going to focus its resources and efforts for the Engineering Industry to be able to achieve that target. This strategy aims to fulfill along set of targets such as to achieve 6.5 Billion EGP Investments, 25 thousand new job opportunities and 116 new exporters by year 2013. The Council will help in preparing potential companies to export and add up to the exporters committee to be able to achieve more than 116 new exporters. They will receive vocational, technical and managerial training.

A new mechanism is going to be applied starting July 2010 for exporters to receive export incentives from the Export Development Fund (EDF).  Export incentives will be calculated based on the Value Added and not on export value as a total (old mechanism). Therefore, we would like all our members to start calculating their value added to be able to continue to receive their incentives.

For any further inquiries, please contact our executive office.

Yours Sincerely,

Ahmed Fikry Abdel Wahab

Chairman of the Council
