AmCham Egypt The Trade-Related Assistance Center (TRAC)
has the pleasure to invite you to attend
A Panel Discussion
To address the topic of:
“Opportunities through the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP)”
The Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) is an initiative through which Egyptian exports to the United States are exempt from custom duties. Egypt has, however, failed to maximize benefits out of the GSP scheme. The volume of Egypt’s exports to the U.S. under GSP amounted to USD 61 million in 2007, a mere 2.6% of Egypt’s total exports to the U.S. The expert panel will address challenges and opportunities to maximize Egypt’s exports through GSP, especially for small and medium enterprises, and explain the procedural steps for application.
